This gourd is a natural product, and needs special care to ensure its longevity.
Caring for your yerba mate gourd is simple: empty all used mate and rinse the inside thoroughly with warm water, avoiding soap or detergent as the inside of the gourd is porous and can absorb flavours of the soap. After cleaning, pat the interior dry with a paper towel or cloth, and place the gourd at an angle in a well-ventilated area to ensure complete drying. Never store a wet gourd in a cupboard or drawer as this will allow for mould growth.
